Yes, the urgent care provider will obtain a pertinent medical history and physical examination to determine the best next step in diagnosis or treatment.

Yes, urgent cares can evaluate and treat head pain. Sometimes additional imaging studies may need to be ordered from imaging centers.
Is a migraine an emergency?
If the headache pain is new or unusual in it’s character, or is associated with other symptoms such as stiff neck, visual changes, weakness, or confusion, it needs to be evaluated by a qualified physician on an emergency basis.
What happens when you go to urgent care for a migraine?
A history of your migraines will be obtained, followed by a physical / neurological exam. Your treatment will depend on findings from the above.
How do you know if your migraine needs treatment?
Migraines associated with other symptoms need to be evaluated. Examples include fevers, stiff neck, weakness, blurred vision, numbness, difficulty communicating, etc.
What is the best way to cure a severe migraine?
The best cure is different for different people. Some require prescription medications, for some ibuprofen works. For some getting some sleep aborts the discomfort, and for others relaxing in a dark room is enough to resolve the headache.
