Providing medical care at Portland Summer Festivals

Are you ready for the summer art festival scene in Portland?  We are! Portland Urgent Care Staff will be attending several upcoming Portland events, including the Rose Festival, the Alberta Main Street Fair, and the Last Thursday Art Fair, providing medical care and resources for attendees and bicyclists.

The Last Thursday Art Fair in Alberta, FoLT is heading into its summer season, which occurs on the last Thursday of each month beginning in May and extending through September.  This annual event is one of the biggest in the Portland area, featuring artists, musicians, and street performers from all over the Northwest.  Since the street is closed to vehicles from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. during the event, it is a perfect time to break out the bicycles to travel to the fair and see the sights!

At the event, we’ll be operating the official Medical/First Aid booth in the Alberta neighborhood all summer long.  As part of our participation, we will offer medical care, advice, and free blood pressure checks for all visitors.  We’ll also be focusing on the theme of bicycle safety in honor of Portland being named “America’s Best Bike City.”

In keeping with the focus on bike safety, we want to encourage all bicyclists in the area to exercise caution while at the Last Thursday Art Fair.  If you get into an accident or suffer an injury, we’ll be there to offer first response care on a personal basis.  We know how to evaluate bicyclist injuries and we can offer x-ray services and referrals if you need care in the future.

Along with our participation at the FoLT, Last Thursday Art Fair, we’ll also be involved in the Rose Festival on June 5, 2013.  The festival parade will be traveling right in front of our clinic and we’re happy to provide advice and assistance.

As the summer heats up, we’ll also be present at the 16th Annual Alberta Main Street Fair on August 10, 2013.  Guests who are enjoying an afternoon browsing the works of local craftsmen and artists can stop by and get personal medical care as needed.
